1) Scope

This Policy applies to information processed when you access or use the Services, contact us for privacy matters, or interact with our social login providers (e.g., Facebook, Google, Apple).

2) Information We Collect

a) Information You Provide

• Account & Profile: name, email, password, city, bio, profile photo.
• Listings & Content: photos, titles, descriptions, tags, categories, boards, messages.
• Subscriptions & Payments: billing details processed by Stripe, PayPal, or ApplePay (we do not store full payment card numbers).
• Social Login: if you use Facebook Login (or Google/Apple), we receive basic profile data allowed by your settings; we do not post to your account without your explicit action.

b) Information Collected Automatically

• Usage & Device: IP address, device identifiers, OS, app version, browser, pages/screens viewed, actions taken.
• Location: approximate or precise location if you enable it (used for listing and discovery features).
• Cookies & Similar Tech: used for authentication, personalization, analytics, and security.

c) Public trust summaries

When you use the marketplace, we may display a trust summary on your public profile, storefront, and listings (for example composite score, trust label such as “Established,” and counts of reviews and endorsements). This information is stored in a world-readable document (users_public) so signed-out visitors and other members can see reputation signals without accessing your private account data. Full trust breakdowns and audit data remain on your private user record and are visible to you when signed in. You cannot set or edit trust scores from the client app; scores are computed by our servers from verified reviews, endorsements, and activity.

3) How We Use Information

• Provide and maintain the Services (listings, storefronts, messaging, recommendations).
• Personalize content, including AI-assisted suggestions for titles, tags, and categories.
• Process subscriptions, boosts, and SaaS payments (no buyer–seller escrow or marketplace payouts).
• Communicate with you about your account, security alerts, and updates.
• Protect against fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms; comply with law.
• Analyze and improve performance and user experience.

4) Legal Bases (EEA/UK)

Where applicable, we process data under: (i) contract performance; (ii) legitimate interests (e.g., product security, personalization); (iii) consent (e.g., notifications, precise location); and (iv) legal obligation.

5) Sharing of Information

• Service Providers: e.g., Firebase (auth, database, storage, messaging), hosting, analytics, OpenAI (for AI-assisted features).
• Payment Processors: Stripe, PayPal, ApplePay (we never store full payment details).
• Social Platforms: if you choose social login, limited data is exchanged to authenticate you.
• Legal / Safety: to comply with law or protect rights, safety, and property.
• Business Transfers: in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.

We do not sell your personal information.

6) Your Choices & Controls

• Account: update profile or delete your account from settings or by emailing privacy@abuzzlist.com.
• Location: enable/disable in device settings.
• Notifications: manage via app and device settings.
• Cookies: control via browser preferences (some features may not work without cookies).

7) Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the Services, fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, or comply with legal, accounting, or reporting obligations.

• While your account is active: We keep your personal information for the duration of your active account.
• After account deletion: When you delete your account (or request deletion), we delete or anonymize associated personal information within 30 days, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (for example, fraud prevention, tax, accounting, security, or compliance). Where retention is required, we limit use and access to the retained data to the stated purposes only.
• Backups and logs: Personal information may remain in backups and system logs for a limited period. Backups are purged on a rolling schedule; any remaining copies are automatically removed when the backup lifecycle expires.
• Aggregated or de-identified data: We may retain de-identified or aggregated information that does not identify you.
• Listings and content: Listings auto-expire per product rules unless renewed; expired content may be removed from public view before underlying data is fully deleted from our systems per the timelines above.
• Security while retained: We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information during the retention period.

You can request deletion at any time by contacting privacy@abuzzlist.com or using in-app settings where available.

8) Security

We employ reasonable technical and organizational measures (encryption in transit, access controls). No system is 100% secure; you use the Services at your own risk.

9) Children’s Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or 16 where applicable). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10) International Users

Data is processed in the United States. By using the Services, you consent to transfer outside your country where data protection laws may differ.

11) Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object or restrict certain processing. To exercise rights, contact privacy@abuzzlist.com.

12) California Notice (CCPA/CPRA)

We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CPRA. California residents may request access, deletion, or correction by emailing privacy@abuzzlist.com.

13) Facebook Login & Data Deletion

We use Facebook data solely for authentication and account creation. To request deletion of data obtained via Facebook Login, email privacy@abuzzlist.com with the subject “Facebook Data Deletion” and your account email. We will confirm once deletion is complete.

14) Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy periodically. Material changes will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date.
